During the rainy season every thing becomes green but some of my plants become conspicuously yellow. Passiflora on right,



Its leaves,


Francissia


Hibiscus on left while the one on right of money plant is dark green.


All of them are regularly fed balanced fertiliser including Iron Sulphate.

Passiflora doesnt like much water in its roots for sure and also it doesnt like to be feed.. Brunfelsia doesnt like heat with direct sun.. hibiscus is showing phosphorus toxicity, this hibiscus looks like the salmon colored double one (most susceptible to phosphorus toxicity)

To my mind they all dislike rains and will recover after the rains.
At this stage will they response to foliar feeding?

But nothing in the world is better than rainwater. No drip irrigation or flood irrigation or any irrigation equals its benefits... Just saying.

And excess of it destroys...Just saying.

In the long run replenishes the precious ground water:)

Actually my all adenium greatly welcomed rain and started flourishing after few rains... because I merely gave water to them previously.

I understand what u said brig Arif. But our plants dying in excess rains is nothing compared to the priceless benefit that each rainfall brings, no matter how devastating.
California has had a record drought. Virtually nothing rainfall in three years. The consequent excessive pumping of water has resulted in fall in the water table levels. This org l.e.cooke (link posted) spent 500000 dollars digging for deeper wells!
CNN reported two days back 'CALIFORNIA IS SINKING' since 1960s the whole state has sank down 13 feet due to pumping out of water. It was an unbelievable news for me.
Here is what this l.e. Cooke article says about drip Irrig vs rain/ground water: "We learned some lessons this year. Drip systems are marvelous, but not the total answer to extreme dry conditions. Until this last year, there has always been residual moisture below the surface of the soil from winter rains. This has givin us adequate moisture in the soil profile to plant with in the spring and supplement the drip systems through the year. Although our trees thrive on the drip systems we use, it is now obvious that they also must have used more water and nutrients from further away in the soil profile which were not there this year."

It is no NEWS to me, I stay updated through Bing News and have the advantage of visualising it having seen all those places. There would be very,very few Americans who have seen so much of USA by road as I have.
