Pollination

Beside environment, Pollination is the most important factor in fruit production.
Insects by far are the most important pollinators, especially the bees.
Low population of insects means low pollination and lower fruit production. In advanced countries they either keep the bees in big orchards or hire them at the time of flowering.
We out of our National ignorance and apathy have completely ignored this factor. In stead of improving the population of bees we have systematically destroyed them by excessive use of insecticide and robbing the surviving ones of their honey.
The two main types of bees in our area are Domna which has a large colony and produces large amount of honey is dangerous and is being robbed out of existence. The smaller bees honey is most sought after so is also being robbed out of existence.
The mountain bee is the only one being farmed, it can not survive the heat of planes.
Half a century ago Agri. University of Lyallpur was working to develop a strain in between doomna and mountain bee, they must have failed and given up.

As little help is available from the natural pollinators, Why not resort to hand pollination, you can use a cotton bud or pick stamens with a tweezers and deposit pollen directly on stigma.
