How to take pictures that should show the true colours of flowers
I believe the pictures presented in the post Should be untouched to show the exact colours of flowers like Amaryllis.
I find that the shades differ in direct sun light, in diffused day light, in artificial light and even in flash light. Even the back ground tricks the mind in perceiving different shades, for example

Brig Sahib the pictures especially of first two varieties are outstanding. The center marks on the throat in the last picture makes it unusual.

Arif sb. I never edited any image for uploading on gardeningpakistan forum. But as you have said that light exposure changes the color shade of a flower. In my view the best time to take shots is evening just before sun light has turned pale because that is the time when no artificial light as well as no sunlight is there and one can get perfect photos.

Ofcourse, tempering with the picture should be avoided.

But my concern is What are true colors?
Aren't colors a perception? which will vary person to person as well as exposures
Does exposure remains constant throughout the day? Shouldn't the variation in exposure/day time considered good as it provides richness and you got to experience it, infact the plant experiences it also

A picture is not necessarily presenting the color and shape of an object. It is how you perceived something, the angles. Various times of day, your garden changes color which is beautiful in itself.

And backgrounds, you know, recruits are made to sit in front of blue backgrounds(most idyllic setting for closest picture) for their pictures and how ugly all of us looked in our first official photos . Backgrounds are important, they are not just there, they are created. So if you can create a background which complements your object in picture, why bend on depicting the "true color" of the object

If i am happy in your company, why do you want me to be in company of someone i appear awful? no matter even if " I am awful".
