Can we make bonsai from a common plant?

What do you mean by common? No.....not every plant can be made into Bonsai. However Ficus species are common which can be used for this purpose.

portulacaria afra and adeniums can be turned into bonsai, they are very common in Pakistan...I have a nice bonsai specimen made out of portulacaria

The common fruiting and flowering plant like jasmine, lemon and other plants. Why not every plant can be turned into a bonsai? I have seen rose plant bonsai on the internet.
