leeches they are....not exactly harmful for the plants. they are there due to extremely wet conditions, which you should be doing. your bed is in terrible condition. reduce watering, hoe well. kill these pests as they are harmful for you then for the plants

@ Sir Airf
Sir sorry i dont have the heart to kill them [emoji5] but one thing i will try is the sugar n yeast remedy given on this site

i think there is a confusion here......first we must decipher whether they are slugs or leeches. to me they are leeches....slugs have tentacles at the head. slugs are harmful for plants and leeches are not

Call them what you may, they love to feed on tender seedlings, Kill them on sight or use the other methods having same results.

Couple of years ago, Dawn newspaper had a recipe for eliminating slugs in the garden. It was most likely Zahra Nasir's article. The recipe was to place couple of cups of sugar solution, close to the ground level. Add a little bit of yeast (available from bakery). The fermenting sugar solution attracts the slugs and they drown in the cup.
Anyway, I would manually pick them up, throw them away in trash bags to be discarded somewhere else...
