ASSALAM O ALAIKUM,
my cherry tomatoes and okra okra plants have started blooming. the cherry tomato flowers are really small. but the okra flower was big and beautiful when it bloomed and the next day when i woke up i saw the flower lying on the floor and a big hole in one of the leaves of the plants. my question is if the rats or birds are attracted towards the flowers and how to protect them.
JAZAKALLAH.

Walaikum Assalam.
Cherry tomato flower are small this is usual and falling of flower is also normal. First flower open and after a day its fall and behind it emerges the fruit or vegetable. But if there is a hole in leaves it can be because of several reasons. Post the picture and members will be able to give answer accordingly. If its sparrows then cover your plant with a net.

neither will make a hole in leaf, must be some beetle, snail or caterpillar.

thankyou for your info. but i was greatly mistaken. the flower of the okra had fallen off on its own and on its place the fruit has emerged. i couldnt understand it cause it is my very first gardening experience. as for the hole in the leaf, it was none other than my own son. i caught him butchering a few of my other plants as well. he is just two and loves to break them off. thanks

HAHA

Some of my grandchildren went through a similar phase as they first learned to walk, they must be watching you and trying to copy.

At one stage my fuschia and paeony were subjected to a sustained attack but now they have outgrown it. I gave them a small patch to call their own and let them grow and dig plants there.

Peony "Bowl of beauty" (grown in the UK) unfortunately this year all the best buds were unceremoniously plucked off by child attack

it is really beautiful newton, its a shame it got attacked by children. but what brings the joy is when they bring the destroyed plants indoors with their grins and mischief in their eyes. it makes it all worth it.
