Re: Anyone using VERMICULITE or PERLITE in their pot mix?
Coco peat/coir is available from any seed / gardening supplies shop. These are in brick form. When put in water, the coco peat absorbs water to expand and disintegrate. The couple of Gardening supplies shop near old sabzi mandi, Karachi (next to Suzuki Showroom) have them.

Re: Lemon Tree
Very informative discussion. I have a lemon plant in a large pot as well. A couple of questions: a) Would it be good practice to use fungicide once a month as a "preventive measure"? b) If (a) is no, then please suggest when to use fungicide to prevent onset of disease (e.g. when adding co...

Re: Blooms in Pots
Lovely blooms. I was reading about it and found out that it is a toxic plant. So be careful and do not leave small children unattended near the plant. With its beautiful flowers, it will be more attractive to children than Dieffenbachia which is a common household toxic plant. http://www.saguaro-jun...

Re: Anyone using VERMICULITE or PERLITE in their pot mix?
I am again confused; if your garden soil is good, why should you not be using the same for the pots? It is again the brain washing by the media (through inter-net). What is the advantage of Perlite over char coal of same size or for that matter broken bricks (kari), or of peat moss over coco husk. ...
