Need suggestion for garden hose

Hi, It would be great if someone can suggest me a good quality garden hose. Not looking for cheap plastic hoses available in normal hardware stores. I want something that is durable and lasts a very long time. I want something that has multiple layers and does not kink easily. My previous hose was a...

Lucky Bamboo in trouble

I bought 5 Lucky Bamboo shoots last year. They were put in a glass vase. They stayed in-direct light and I got good growth out of them for a few months they stopped growing in winter and then the growth reappeared in spring this year. At the end of May I noticed that a couple of stems were getting y...

Re: Watering lawn query

I've always watered my lawn twice a week. The grass growth is good. The reason I prefer the twice a week schedule is that it retains moisture for longer. In light sprinkling there would be greater loss of water due to evaporation. That's my own theory, based on what I have observed in practice. Pers...

This is a pic of the two types. The one on the left looks like Dhaka grass (Bermuda). Correct me if I am wrong. The other seems to be the wild type.

Another pic comparing the two. The wild one grows much taller, while the other type spreads horizontally.

Re: Can reflected sunlight help grass grow in a shady spot?

Just across the shady spot, I get good light for at least 6 hours a day. So If I put a reflective surface over there it will give good light for at least a few hours. I was also thinking of something like a concave mirror. The kind they use to help drivers navigate on blind corners up in the hills. ...

Watering lawn query

I am from Lahore. The temperature nowadays is creeping up to 40 C. My question is what is the best way to water the lawn. Should I give it a light shower every day or should I give it 1 inch standing water twice a week? My lawn has Dhaka grass.

Can reflected sunlight help grass grow in a shady spot?

Hi,

I have a shady spot in my lawn. It only gets sunlight for about an hour every day so the Bermuda grass doesn't grow well and the patch remains bald. Could I use a reflector to deflect sunlight and light up the shady spot?

Will it help the grass grow, or does grass need direct sunlight?
