I think you should get rid of atleast half of it's leaves because the bulbs needs to have roots to support it's leaves.

I'm waiting on a supply of various varieities of Brunsvigia, Boophone and Ammocharis from Telos. They asked me if they should remove the leaves before shipping. I asked what would be the benefit of removing them versus keeping them. They said if you leave them on they will gather some energy from the sunlight for the bulb before they grey and fall off. I kept the leaves on this bulb I got from you after getting this information. The current picture from today is posted with this.

Brig saheb this is supposed to be a blooming size bulb i.e. 12 years old approx. The first year will likely be spent establishing an extensive root system. I'm hoping the year after it will bloom. These south african bulbs resent moving or any tampering with their root system. The potting mix is nehri bhal plus keri (brick powder) plus sand. I added some superphosphate since I plan to keep the bulb in the pot as long as possible maybe 5-10 years even or longer!

Boophone is more famous for it's leaves than flowers so you won't have to wait long :0)

Telos bulbs would take many years to bloom if I am not wrong.

Yes they will be small bulbs years from blooming. They have a decent variety though. Like you said Boophone with it's beautiful leaves is pretty nice anyways.
