Re: Pakistan Breaks World Record
Mangrove (Locally known in Sindhi as "Tamar" were also planted couple of years back with even more buzz on the media, If i am not wrong at that time also a world record was established by planting around 500,000 saplings, this time also the world record has been established by planting 700,000 plus saplings.
Apparently the activity is heartening and good for the sea shores since each year sea intrudes the land and mangroves not only check that but also serve like nursery for many commercially important species.
However, i was watching a report on KTN News that the plants that were planted earlier weren't taken care of and in result much less number of saplings got established, i hope this year they do something about it as well.
