Roses From Seeds

Asalam u alikum

As the topic referrers I have seeds of roses , I have ordered from abroad.

The roses include 9 colours such as blue, black, green, red, pink, yellow, rainbow, etc etc.

Previously I also tried and sowed them ,but even not a single plant came out.

now on the roses seeds pack , it is instructed to first put for 60 days in to freezer, and after this, put in 40 Celsius for 4-5 days , and preferable to plant in October.

Anybody have experience for growing roses from seeds.

Near impossible to grow roses from seeds in Faisalabad. They need colder climate to germinate and perform afterwards...Areas up north of Murree. For instance if you chill them in refrigerator for the said period.....You will never have 0-5 Degree Celsius in Faisalabad in October....These temperatures are not only required at night but day also.

WSA, just a question. Are the rose colours true colours or just fancy names by the seeds vendor?

Colours are seems to be true colour not fancy. Infact I had before these seeds from my one friend. he also tried in Karachi but did not succeed . In winter for 2 /3 months we have very very good temperature around 10 .

now very soon I am going to put the roses seeds in the freezer, in October In Sha Allah will try some, upto December.

There is no rainbow rose, there is no pure black rose...how come these seeds be authentic?

I agree. I am sorry to say that the website is BOGUS. Some of the roses are indeed real roses (except the black one), the rainbow is rose is made artificially with dyes. Blue rose does not exist. If your seed bag was just 7 dollars throw it away in the garbage. Another bogus thing is that they are selling 1800 rose seeds for 7 dollars. That is nothing but fraud.

They are not natural but have been inserted artificial colors through osmosis.

Matter to think that they have sold millions of pcs. The Company claim that the seeds can be grown into plants. Anyway, we have to first try .


In Faisalabad, Local Nursery owner said it is possible to grow through seeds. all Punjab agriculture website also indicates it is possible but very very difficult..
