They say" men get naughty at age 40".But I agree with you....there can be exceptions....sometimes.

Farhan,
Why cant you put a simple question?
AGE, Time past in GROWING stage, your physical peak and parabola of decline.
It is time utilised in accumulating wealth of knowledge.
THE TIME SPENT IN YOUR STRUGLE FOR SURVIVAL.
Nearing the end you feel whatever you did was a waste of time and there is no re-play.
I am too confused to answer it, I give up.

Age is classified in two ways :-)

Physiological Age
It is the time elapsed......The days, minutes and seconds, i lived in this mortal world. Its just the measure of time vis a vis response of my body.

Chronological Age
And then there is chronological age......The life events experienced, the moments truly lived in observing, learning or doing something.

Just to simplify if i sit in a room with no contact with outside world. I will age but my mental age will remain zero for that specific amount of time. A person who travels around the world, see different events and cultures, studies different arts and crafts will have a chronological age much greater than his physical age and from the person who lived in a room with little outside exposure.

Lets take the garden. A person with few pots/plants and a person with hundreds of pots/plants.....both will have a different chronological age just because their experience differs in terms of quality and quantity of plants and thereby other intricacies.

I maybe 40 years old in my teens :-).............

Now does this mean, more chronological age is better?....I don't think so. Sometimes it does benefit...... but i think the satisfaction lies in simplicity. That is why the poor farmer is more content then me and you maybe....

In the natural scheme of nature, chronological age is proportional to physiological age..that is why we say that my grand father is old thus very wise. But exceptions are there and these exceptions come only when a much younger person is faced with trauma(s)/accident(s) or incident(s) in life. This can happen for a community also. Lets say if there is a war today. The chronological age of all of us will suddenly increase by manifolds.

No wonder, present day child is far more aware than us. Just because he has more exposure.

Considering the Maslow's hierarchy of needs......We the middle or higher class, do not have to worry about the basic 3 needs.
1. Physiological Needs(Food/Air etc)
2. Safety (security/shelter etc)
3. Belonging (Love/Family)

Image

We are stuck with the other two....Self Esteem and Realization.
Sometimes nature jolts us and throws us in First, 2nd or third step.....When we are fighting for our life or family or even basic needs.
Now this is also age dependent. Youngsters are mostly seeking stage 2 and 3. Guys in 40s and 50s stage 4. and further older are presumably seeking stage 5.
Now again variation...... if somehow my chronological age increased manifolds at a young age due some factors........i will start seeking stage 5 right away.

I hope i am understandable.
